This bear was described by Bonham’s, in their 1995 catalogue of bears from the then recently closed Cotswold Teddy Bear Museum, as ‘an unusual blonde mohair record bear. German, 1920s’. He could hang from the arm of a gramophone so that he ‘danced’ on the revolving record beneath. Our Old Witney Favourite cannot dance, but retains the character of the original.
Made of lightly aged and distressed, blond mohair, he has black button eyes and felt paw pads. Master Dancer wears a removable, aged, pale blue cotton suit.
