Merrythought Conquest of Everest Bear, made 1993


This bear was made to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Sir Edmund Hilary’s ascent of Mount Everest. Made of pale grey mohair with white felt goggles, this fully jointed bear has a rope around his body and holds a pick axe in one hand and a Union Jack on a pole on the other. He is number 134 of the edition of 5000. With certificate and decorative display box as new.
